witch.

Not far from where I live someone hung a dead witch on this tree that has penis and balls.

All in good fun. Perhaps. Or, another warning sign from the patriarchy against wise women, herbalists, free thinkers, and children of the Goddess.

Every year thousands of people around the world are accused of witchcraft and murdered. Those targeted are usually women who somehow do not fit in, do not conform, or are too old, too poor, or too alone, to protect themselves.

Usually those murdered for witchcraft are women.

Children are also accused of witchcraft and are murdered after accusation.

Displaying a dead witch on a penis-bearing tree is a potent symbol of misogyny. Not spooky fun, but rather a symbol of the very real threat of violence against women.
